They take your browsing data and sell it to companies to give you specific ads. That's it. That's all it is. Don't buy a more expensive headset because its made by a different company. Also it doesn't matter almost all corporations do this. The site your reading this on now? They do it too. So if your put off buying a Rift because some crazy backwards conspiracy theorist says they will steal all you private most sensitive data to sell to other companies, Ignore them, Because the companies they sell to probably have all your data already because they make the device your using right now. 16.04.2022I don't recommend any from Oculus. Although they have an exclusive game store, it's not worth it for the quality. I have the Rift CV1, his problem: a flat cable that goes through the right handle breaks and you lose the audio from both headphones and the rear sensor. This happens with ALL Rift cv1. Quest has a tracking problem and poor graphics quality. They launched in 2019 and in 2020 already have Quest 2, correcting the errors of the first (and there will be errors too). Want to spend your money well on a VR? Buy and buy an HTC Vive. Quality in construction, housing, tracking sensors and a clearer image.
